The Tenants Protection Act TPA and Tenants Protection Ordinance TPO, San Diego's version of TPA, add restrictions on raising rent, terminating the tenancy, etc.
If you are a MOM & POP landlord, you are likely exempt. But you must still disclose the tenant rights and your exception status as a landlord, even to existing month-to-month tenancies.
